Amanda Torsani, Accounting Manager

Amanda joined MFI in 2015 as the accounting manager.  She has over ten years of accounting experience, having worked in both public firms and private companies.  She has gained experience from a variety of markets, including healthcare, senior living, residential, commercial and investment accounting.

Amanda graduated from Towson University with a B.A. in Finance and a minor in Spanish.  She is currently pursuing her Maryland real estate license.

Beverly Dobrochowski, Vice President

As Vice President of Maryland Financial Investors, Inc., Beverly Dobrochowski is responsible for the complete operation of the office, including oversight of all activities of the property managers and supervision of the entire office staff.  She also is responsible for construction management for whole shopping center renovation and personally manages five strip centers.

Beverly began her career in property management in 1973 with Monumental Properties, Inc.  When the company liquidated in 1979, she went to work for one of the newly formed companies, Magna Properties, Inc., a commercial residential construction management company.  She re-entered the management field as a property manager with Maryland Financial Investors in 1993.  Beverly is licensed as a real estate agent in the state of Maryland. She is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).

Christine M. DiSalvo, Compliance Director

Christine DiSalvo joined Maryland Financial Investors in November of 2008. As Compliance Director, Christine is involved in many aspects of the daily operations of the company. She is involved during the various stages of lease negotiations in an oversight capacity, and she reviews all completed leases and amendments to ensure accuracy. She is involved in acquisitions, financings, property development and rezoning requests. She is responsible for the documentation of procedures and helps to streamline the various processes followed throughout the company. She draws on her extensive experience with the interpretation of lease documents, financing instruments, and property records to ensure the company’s compliance with requirements and regulations.

Christine graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts with honors in Political Science. Christine is also a licensed real estate salesperson in Maryland.

Eileen Feldman, Controller

Eileen Feldman has been Controller at Maryland Financial since 1989, and from the beginning instituted procedures for keeping accurate and up-to-date records.  As controller, she is responsible for managing all the money that comes in and goes out, including mortgages, rents, distributions, etc.  She generates all financial reports for the properties MFI manages.  In addition, Eileen does all in-house accounting for the management company itself as well as for our related commercial maintenance company.  She oversees the purchase of all computer hardware and software and assists the staff in becoming familiar with the new applications.

In her career, Eileen has worked as a bookkeeper for other real estate companies including a property management firm, an accounting firm, and other commercial businesses.  She worked for the federal government as well.

Jodi Rohrbaugh, Compliance Associate and Paralegal

Jodi Rohrbaugh joined our team in July 2016.  Prior to coming to MFI, Jodi worked in commercial lending for nine years, specializing in commercial loan documentation.  As an associate in the Compliance Department, she helps to review various documents to ensure the company’s compliance with requirements and regulations, streamline company processes, and more. She also works with Investor Relations to coordinate capital raises and reviews partnership documentation.

Jodi has a B.A. in Communications from McDaniel College and a B.S. in Paralegal Studies from Stevenson University.

Laurie Albo, Asset Manager

Laurie Albo joined Maryland Financial Investors, Inc. in March of 2007 as asset manager and leasing agent.  As such she specializes in site selection analysis, leasing and consulting on ground-up development, and leasing mixed use and strip shopping centers.  Prior to joining MFI, Laurie worked at The Shopping Center Group for nearly five years in Atlanta and Miami where she was responsible for leasing a portfolio of over 3 million square feet of retail space.

Laurie is a 2002 graduate of Tulane University with a B.S. in finance.  She is a member of the Landlord Leasing Council, ChainLinks Retail Services and International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).  Laurie is licensed as a real estate agent in the state of Maryland.

Melissa Eisner, Property Manager

Prior to joining, Maryland Financial Investors, Inc., Melissa was employed in commercial banking for 27 years, most recently with Susquehanna Bank.  Her experience ranged from retail, consumer and business arena to include new accounts, consumer loans and commercial loans.  Melissa earned her Bachelors of Science in Business Administration from the University of Delaware.

Merle G. Fishman, Director of Investor Relations

Merle Fishman began her career in property management in 1989 with Maryland Financial Investors.  She is the administrator for the various syndications which own many of the shopping centers Maryland Financial manages.  As such, she is responsible for all communications with investors.  She drafts the quarterly progress reports and oversees the issuance of quarterly distributions to individual investors.  Merle acts as intermediary between the attorneys, accountants, and the partners.  On the management side, she is responsible for shopping center insurance coverage, tax assessments and appeals, and various other applications which concern all the properties.

Before joining Maryland Financial, Merle worked in the state legislature for seven years at which time she became involved with issues involving real estate.  As for formal education, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Chatham College, completed one year of postgraduate study at the Universität München in Germany, and received a M.L.A. degree from the Johns Hopkins University.

Michael Albo, Vice President

Michael Albo joined Maryland Financial Investors in March of 2007.  His main concentration is in the finance department where he is responsible for reviewing and improving treasury management and accounting procedures.  He is also involved in the syndication when new properties are acquired.  Prior to joining MFI, Michael spent more than four years in public accounting where he gained experience in tax consulting, litigation support, business valuation, forensic accounting and commercial real estate auditing.  Michael also worked in the Internal Audit Department at Burger King Corporation in Miami, Florida.

Michael graduated from the University of Michigan in May 2001 with a concentration in Economics. Michael is also a licensed real estate salesperson in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington DC.

Richard E. Rotner, President

Richard E. Rotner is a native of Baltimore.  He graduated from the Friends School in Baltimore and the University of Maryland as well as from the New York Law School from which he received a J. D. Degree.  Richard is C.E.O. of MFI Realty, a commercial real estate brokerage firm specializing in the leasing and sale of retail properties.  He is also active in syndication and development.  As a former Vice President of Real Estate for Midcon Industries and its predecessors and affiliates, Goodrich Realty & Development Group, Ltd., Goodrich Associates, etc., he developed or purchased approximately one hundred fifty shopping centers.

Richard is the owner of Maryland Financial Investors, Inc. He is the former Director of ChainLinks Board of Directors, former First Vice President of ChainLinks, a member of ChainLinks Special Council on Anchor Tenants, a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), a member of the New York Bar Association, and a member of the District of Columbia Bar Association.

Sarah Baum, Compliance Associate

Sarah Baum joined Maryland Financial Investors in April 2017.  In her role as an associate in the Compliance Department, Sarah helps to review various documents to ensure the company’s compliance with requirements and regulations.


Sarah has a B.S. in Political Science from Carleton College and a J.D. from University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law. Prior to joining MFI, she completed clerkships on the both the Maryland Court of Special Appeals and the Maryland Court of Appeals.

Scott Cherry, Asset Manager

Scott Cherry joined Maryland Financial Investors as a property manager in 2010 with over five years of experience in residential and commercial management and development.  Prior to joining the MFI team he was employed by H&H Rock Companies, a full service real estate development firm, based out of Howard County, Maryland.

At MFI Scott manages fourteen retail shopping centers ranging from 5,000 to 150,000 square feet.  He oversees tenant charges and payments; common area maintenance, tax, and insurance reconciliations; property service agreements; and cultivates relationships in order to enhance each property’s value.  Scott also works on the asset management and development side of the business, overseeing both ground up and renovation projects within the portfolio.

Scott is a 2006 graduate of the University of Maryland College Park with a Bachelors of Science in Finance.  He is a licensed real estate agent in the state of Maryland.
